  • 2026-09-29: Two women were shot and killed on September 29, 2026 outside the Castillo de Chapultepec primary school in Vista Encantada, Tijuana, forcing students to shelter during the gunfire; two suspects were detained. (2 killed, 2 arrested) [Blanco y Negro Noticias, 2026-09-29]
  • 2026-09-24: An armed attack on September 24, 2026 in Jardines del Rubi, Tijuana, left one man dead and another wounded; a suspect was detained. (1 killed, 1 arrested) [ContrasteBC, 2026-09-24]
  • 2026-09-21: Two men were killed in a double homicide in Campestre Murua, Tijuana, around September 21, 2026; a suspect was detained and turned over to the state attorney general. (2 killed, 1 arrested) [NDT Noticias de Tijuana, 2026-09-21]
  • 2026-09-16: Tijuana reached 649 homicides in 2026 as of September 16, with 30 cases recorded in September alone. (649 killed) [NDT Noticias de Tijuana, 2026-09-16]
  • 2026-09-12: A couple aged 77 and 64 were found shot dead inside their home in colonia Obrera 1a Seccion, Tijuana, on September 12, 2026, discovered by their daughter after days without contact; their Nissan Frontier with California plates was found dismantled blocks away.   • 2026-09-02: A man was shot dead inside an apartment in Natura, Tijuana, on September 2, 2026; the state attorney general took over the investigation and no arrests had been reported. (1 killed) [ContrasteBC, 2026-09-02]
  • 2026-08-31: Two men were found dead on August 31, 2026 in Tijuana's Zona Este near bulevar 2000 at puente La Encantada. (2 killed) [El Congresista, 2026-08-31]
  • 2026-08-28: Emilio Valdez Mainero, a former member of the Arellano Felix Cartel, was reported disappeared on August 28, 2026, part of a wave of disappearances, homicides and threats against ex-CAF figures in Tijuana. [Primera Nota (citing Semanario ZETA), 2026-09]
  • 2026-08-18: Five bodies were found between August 17 and 18, 2026 near the Hipodromo and Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, amid what ZETA-linked reporting described as a dispute between criminal cells; a sixth man was killed in the same area on August 20.   • 2026-07-12: Four men were killed overnight on July 12, 2026 in Tijuana: two shot in Maclovio Rojas and two found burned on Antigua a Tecate. No suspects had been identified. (4 killed) [El Congresista, 2026-07-12]
  • 2026-07-07: A federal grand jury in the Southern District of California indicted Carlos Alberto Paez Pereda, known as 'Carlitos Rugrats,' a Sinaloa Cartel Los Rugrats lieutenant of the Mayo Zambada wing, on narcoterrorism and material-support charges; the indictment was unsealed July 7, 2026 and the FBI added him to its Most Wanted list.   • 2026-06-17: Juan Antonio Ruiz Rayas, known as 'El Banano' and described as a former hitman boss of the Arellano Felix Cartel, was killed on June 17, 2026 amid a wave of killings, disappearances and threats targeting former CAF members in Tijuana.   • 2026-04: Three people were killed in a direct armed attack inside a fruit shop in colonia Castillo, Tijuana, in April 2026; security-corporation reports attributed the attack to persistent rivalry between armed cells over control of retail drug-dealing streets.   • 2025-11: Tijuana recorded five homicides in a single day in November 2025, two of them against women. (5 killed) [Lado.mx, 2025-11]

  • The PedWest pedestrian facility at San Ysidro has up to twelve northbound pedestrian booths segmented for SENTRI, Ready Lane and General traffic, handles I-94 permits, hosts a SENTRI Enrollment Center, and is open 24 hours a day.   • InSight Crime's March 2026 investigation describes Tijuana's retail drug market as a 'violent criminal oligopoly' divided among factions linked to Los Chapitos and the Mayiza of the Sinaloa Cartel, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and remnants of the Arellano Felix Cartel.
