385,731 Blue Pills in One Pickup: CBP Says It Found More Than 100 Pounds of Fentanyl in a Dodge Ram at San Ysidro, the San Diego–Tijuana Crossing

By The Narco Blog · October 12, 2026 · Updated October 12, 2026

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of San Ysidro, the busy crossing between San Diego and Tijuana, found more than 100 pounds of fentanyl while searching a 2018 Dodge Ram 700 trying to enter the United States, CBP announced on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, KTLA reported the same day. The load included more than 92 pounds of blue fentanyl pills, roughly 385,731 of them, plus more than 30 pounds of white fentanyl powder.

What CBP reported

According to KTLA, CBP said the 30-plus pounds of powder is the equivalent of more than 1 million pills. The agency’s Office of Field Operations called the bust a “massive narcotics interdiction” and said, “Through unwavering vigilance, our frontline personnel continue to secure the border and protect our homeland from deadly synthetic drugs.”

KTLA did not say when the search took place, where in the pickup the drugs were found, or what happened to the driver. The Narco Blog found no CBP release or court filing naming anyone in connection with the seizure, and neither KTLA nor CBP tied the load to any cartel.

Bigger than this spring’s San Ysidro loads

The haul is roughly three times the fentanyl in a San Ysidro seizure CBP publicized in April. In an April 29 release, CBP said officers found about 35 pounds of fentanyl powder and more than 80 pounds of methamphetamine in 94 packages hidden in the roof of a 2019 Honda Pilot on April 19, after an X-ray showed anomalies and a dog alerted. The driver, a 27-year-old Mexican national, was taken into custody and faced federal import charges, CBP said. On April 13, officers found 14.02 pounds of fentanyl powder in the rear quarter panels of a 2025 Toyota Corolla driven by a 20-year-old Mexican citizen enrolled in the SENTRI trusted-traveler program, according to the same release.
