- 2026-09-15: A Cuban national accused of orchestrating the Villas Otoch armed attack was arrested on aggravated homicide and attempted homicide charges. (1 arrested) [Cuba Headlines, 2026-09-15]
- 2026-09-07: A shooting in Cancun's Villas Otoch Paraiso neighborhood left one person dead and two injured; the suspect was sought over a rental-property dispute. (1 killed) [Cuba Headlines, 2026-09-07]
- 2026-09-05: Four Cuban nationals were rescued by Quintana Roo state police from a Cancun house where they were held and beaten for ransom; five alleged captors were detained. (5 arrested) [Cuba Headlines, 2026-09-05]

- 2026-08: A downtown Tulum shooting failed when the gunman's magazine fell out of the weapon; no one was injured. [Tulum Times, 2026-08]

- 2026-04: Two men were wounded in a motorcycle drive-by shooting at a barbershop in Cancun's Supermanzana 217; bystanders rushed them to hospital by taxi. [Riviera Maya News, 2026-04]
- 2026-04: Businessman Tomas Suaste was killed and three companions wounded when an armed group opened fire inside his Chico Malo bar on Huayacan Avenue in Cancun. (1 killed) [Riviera Maya News, 2026-04]
