‘El Perico,’ Alleged Mastermind of the La Resaka Bar Massacre That Killed 6 in Tula, Hidalgo, Arrested — Officials Call Him the Right-Hand Man of Jailed Fuel-Theft Boss ‘El H’

By The Narco Blog · October 16, 2026 · Updated October 16, 2026

Hidalgo state agents arrested a man known as “El Perico” on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026, in Xochitlán de las Flores, Tula de Allende, north of Mexico City. Proceso reports he is the alleged mastermind of the November 2025 attack on Tula’s La Resaka bar, in which six people were killed. State officials call him the right-hand man of “El H,” a jailed fuel-theft boss.

What officials say about the arrest

According to El Universal (Oct. 15), Hidalgo’s state prosecutor’s office (PGJEH) said its criminal investigation agents arrested him on a warrant for illegal gun possession and small-scale drug dealing. The office called him a priority target. It said agents seized a handgun, four loaded magazines, and doses of what appeared to be cocaine and marijuana. Excélsior identifies him as Pedro “N,” 49, and says a Ford Lobo Platinum pickup was also seized. The prosecutor’s office gave his initials as P.A.A., while Proceso says the state security ministry used L.B.D.R. He will go before a judge, who will decide whether he stands trial.

El Universal reports the prosecutor’s office stressed his alleged closeness to Hugo Alberto Muñoz Marmolejo, “El H,” leader of the Los H gang. Proceso says El H is held in the El Altiplano federal prison. It describes his group as involved in drug dealing, contract killings and stealing fuel from pipelines.

The La Resaka bar attack

Proceso says the split of Los H began after El H’s arrest on March 15, 2025. His brother José David, seen as his successor, was killed three days later. One faction allegedly followed El Perico and the other “El Cuquis.” Citing the state security cabinet, Proceso says gunmen who stormed La Resaka early on Nov. 29, 2025, were after “El Curru,” an operator close to El Cuquis. He escaped, but was killed on Feb. 3, 2026. Six people died and eight were wounded. Early reports, such as Infobae’s on the day of the attack, gave four dead. Excélsior reported six dead in December 2025. The prosecutor’s statements on the arrest, as El Universal and Excélsior report them, do not mention the bar attack.

The alleged Santa Rosa de Lima link

Citing federal intelligence, Proceso says El Perico sought an alliance with the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel, which was run from prison by José Antonio Yépez Ortiz, “El Marro.” Proceso adds that the fight over pipelines and stolen fuel has spread from Guanajuato into Hidalgo, which has led Mexico in pipeline fuel theft since 2018.
