BMWs, Foreign Cash and 6 Phones: Federal Raid in Mazatlán’s Mangle Marina y Golf Subdivision Ends With 1 Man Arrested and 8 Vehicles Seized

By The Narco Blog · October 17, 2026

Federal agents arrested a man and seized eight vehicles in a raid on a home in Residencial Mangle Marina y Golf, a residential subdivision in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Uniradio Informa and Agencia Reforma reported on Oct. 16–17, 2026. NX Noticias described the subdivision as exclusive and said the vehicles included BMW models and BAIC BJ40 SUVs. Officials have not said who the man is or which criminal group, if any, they were investigating.

What federal authorities seized

According to Uniradio Informa (Oct. 17), the search warrant was carried out by the organized-crime unit (FEMDO) of Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR), with the Navy (Semar) guarding the perimeter and the Security Ministry (SSPC) taking part. Along with the eight vehicles, agents seized cash in pesos and foreign currency, about 300 grams of suspected marijuana, six cell phones and digital storage devices. Luz Noticias (Oct. 16) said the vehicles included several luxury cars. The detained man was read his rights and handed to prosecutors, who will decide his legal status. He has not been charged publicly and is presumed innocent.

Agencia Reforma, in a report published by El Diario (Oct. 16), said the official statement did not give the cash amount or the raid dates. It also did not explain how the Mazatlán home was connected to two properties searched the same day in El Carrizal, Culiacán. There, agents found a rifle, ammunition and three bags of a substance resembling methamphetamine, but made no arrests.

Why it matters in Mazatlán

Reforma’s report placed the raids within a wave of federal operations in Sinaloa, where the Los Chapitos and Los Mayos factions of the Sinaloa Cartel are at war. Authorities have not tied this raid to either faction. Earlier this week, Mazatlán’s business chamber canceled its annual Expo Feria, citing safety concerns after dark.
