94 Pounds of Fentanyl in One Commercial Truck at the Laredo Port of Entry: Texas DPS Arrests Wisconsin and Oklahoma Men in $1.4 Million Seizure
Special agents from the Texas Department of Public Safety say they found 94 pounds of fentanyl, and roughly 59 more pounds of methamphetamine, heroin and the synthetic stimulant eutylone, inside a commercial vehicle at the Laredo Port of Entry on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. The driver, from Wisconsin, and the passenger, from Oklahoma, were arrested, DPS said in a press release.
What DPS says was in the truck
According to the DPS South Texas Region release, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Laredo port asked for help around 7 a.m. that Tuesday. A commercial vehicle inspection turned up:
- 94 pounds of fentanyl, which DPS counts as more than 19,868,181 potentially lethal doses
- 26 pounds of methamphetamine
- 18 pounds of heroin
- 15 pounds of eutylone
DPS put the total at more than 153 pounds, with an estimated street value of more than $1.4 million. It described the seizure as part of a joint operation with federal authorities under Operation Lone Star, the state’s border security program.
Who was arrested
DPS Criminal Investigations Division agents took over the case and arrested the driver, Ernesto Jaime, 53, of Wisconsin, and the passenger, Enrique Ramirez Valle, 51, of Oklahoma. Both are charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and were taken to the Webb County Jail, DPS said. News 4 San Antonio reported the same details on Sept. 25.
These are charges, not convictions, and both men are presumed innocent. DPS did not say whether either man has a lawyer, where the load came from or was going, or whether investigators tie it to any criminal organization.

It is the second large port-of-entry seizure on The Narco Blog this weekend, after a drug dog found 249 kilos of cocaine and fentanyl under a trailer floor at Tijuana’s Otay crossing.
