Gunmen Storm a Zapopan House and Drag Away 4 Young Men, Ages 18 to 20 — Their Neighborhood Now Has 19 Missing This Year
Gunmen fired on a house in Zapopan’s Arenales Tapatíos neighborhood on the night of Monday, September 14, then went inside and forcibly took four young men, ages 18 to 20, Blog del Narco and La Silla Rota reported. More than a week later, none of them had been found. No arrests had been reported, and no group had been publicly blamed.
What happened on Estaños street
Blog del Narco (September 22, 2026) identified the missing men as Alan Osiel Zaragoza Mendoza, 18; Jorge Daniel Camacho Flores, 19; Dilan Federico Ramírez Zavala, 19; and José Carlos González Vázquez, 20. According to the outlet, the four had met at Camacho Flores’s home and then went to a property at 122 Estaños street. Witnesses told state investigators that armed men arrived in vehicles, shot at the front of the house, went inside and dragged the four out. Blog del Narco reported that a fifth person in the house got away from the attackers. It also said responding officers found signs of the attack at the scene, including blood on the ground.
La Silla Rota (September 23, 2026) put the shooting at about 9:30 p.m. Jalisco’s Special Prosecutor’s Office for Missing Persons is handling the case, and the state search commission has issued missing-person notices for all four, Blog del Narco reported. Relatives have filed complaints for disappearance committed by private individuals.
Families take their demands to Casa Jalisco
The families protested outside Casa Jalisco, the governor’s official residence, to demand faster results in the search, according to Blog del Narco. La Silla Rota reported that the families are asking for the results of DNA tests, for authorities to review footage from five private security cameras they identified, and for regular updates on the investigation.
A neighborhood with 19 missing this year
La Silla Rota reported that, as of September 21, 19 missing-person notices had been issued in 2026 for people from Arenales Tapatíos (14 men and 5 women). That is the most of any neighborhood in the Guadalajara metropolitan area, according to the outlet. Of those 19, three were found alive, one was found dead and 15 were still missing. The outlet counted eight such notices for the neighborhood in 2023. It also reported that Zapopan as a whole has 4,496 people registered as disappeared or missing, 2,069 of whom have not been located.
